Some people’s most favorite part of FanX or any comic con is the nerdy camaraderie of it all. Which is pretty epic, I assure you. It’s like the midnight showing of every geek franchise all at the same place on the same day.
People in costumes.
Small businesses and artists selling their wares which stretch across a vast array of fandoms.
And precious geek artifacts.
Can’t tell you how many times people would stop me to chat just because of the shirt I had on, especially when I was wearing my Hufflepuff apparel. When you find a kindred spirit, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve known them or anything else about them, there is an unbreakable bond between you that will keep you smiling for life.
The very last event of FanX was a sing-along to Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
There is not much in this world better than a group of hundreds of people who all know a piece of material so well they can speak along to every line, sing every note, harmony included, and divide into all the singing parts in time. If you aren’t familiar with Dr Horrible, you should be. Neil Patrick Harris’s best performance.
Signing off, your favorite geek.
